1. Overview
ChatEdge Art Print-On-Demand (POD) allows artists and printers to collaborate in a single workspace. Artists upload artwork, choose finishing options, and place print orders. Printers can view, claim, process, and fulfill those orders using the secure Printer Dashboard.
2. User Roles
- Artists: Upload and manage art assets, set size, finish, and notes. Track order status (New ? Processing ? Ready ? Fulfilled).
- Printers: Access
/chatEdge/art/printer/orders.cfm, claim orders, download files (Upscaled, Heightmap), and update status once printed.
- Admins: Approve printers, monitor production, and audit orders.
3. Order Flow
- New Order: Created by artist when print request is submitted.
- Claim: Printer clicks “Claim” to take responsibility for the job.
- Processing: Printer downloads files and begins printing.
- Ready: Order finished and ready for delivery or pickup.
- Fulfilled: Artist confirms or printer marks as delivered.
- Canceled: Admin or artist cancels the order before printing.
4. File Types
- Upscaled File: High-resolution version of the artwork for printing.
- Heightmap: Optional 3D depth map for embossed or textured prints.
- Original URL: Reference link to the artist’s uploaded file or source image.
5. Status Filters & Dashboard Tips
- Use the top tabs to filter by Ready, Processing, New, Fulfilled, Canceled, or All.
- Use the “Scope” tabs to view All Orders, My Orders (claimed by you), or Unassigned jobs.
- Click Save after changing the status dropdown to record your update.
- For long sessions, refresh every few minutes to see new incoming jobs.
6. Printer Setup
Printers should verify that uploaded artwork is in CMYK color profile, includes bleed if required, and matches the requested print dimensions in inches (width × height). Finished prints should adhere to ChatEdge quality standards before marking as Ready.
7. Security & Access
- Only verified printers or admins can access the printer dashboard.
- CSRF protection is built-in to every status update form.
- Artists can only see their own orders; printers see assigned or unassigned jobs.
8. Troubleshooting
- If you see “Access Denied,” ensure you are logged in as
printer or admin.
- “Variable REQUIREPRINTER is undefined” ? check that
guards.cfm includes the requirePrinter() function.
- “Invalid CSRF” ? refresh the orders page before saving status.
- Blank results ? try changing filter to All or Unassigned.
